ABTOU THE COMPASSION CAPITAL FUND
A major component of the Bush Administration's Faith-Based and Community Initiative, the primary purpose of the CCF is to help faith-based and community organizations: increase their effectiveness, enhance their ability to provide social services, expand their organizations, diversify their funding sources, and create collaborations to better help those in need. The CCF administers two grant programs:
Demonstration Program - funds intermediary organizations to provide faith-based and community organizations with training, technical assistance, and capacity-building sub-awards. Intermediary organizations funded under the CCF are required to provide at least 25 percent of their grant award in the form of financial support or sub-awards to qualified faith-based and community organizations in select geographic areas.
Targeted Capacity-Building Program - funds faith-based and community organizations directly with one time $50,000 awards for one year to build their capacity to deliver services to at-risk youth, the homeless, or those living in rural communities, or to provide marriage education
