WRITE TEN GRASSROOTS LETTER-WRITING CAMPAIGN
NCCED's members can and do influence Congressional decisions! Write to your legislators today in support of key issues for community economic development!
WHAT IS Write Ten?
NCCED members commit to write ten letters to key Legislators during the year (October 1 - September 30) on issues of importance to the community economic development field.
HOW DOES Write Ten WORK ?
Email Option
Check the Public Policy page on NCCED's website periodically. For each alert, bill, and issue, NCCED staff have provided sample emails. Enter your zip code and a sample email will appear-- already addressed to YOUR local legislator. Just add your contact information, title the email, and modify it as you like. Then click to send. It's that EASY!!
Copies of your emails will automatically be forwarded to NCCED staff in Washington, D.C.
Mail / Fax Option
Draft your own letters and fax or mail. Forward copies of each letter to Erica Lindquist, NCCED Policy Analyst, at 1030 15th St. NW, Suite 325, Washington DC, 20005, or 202 289-7051 (fax).
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I WRITE TEN LETTERS?
In return for your participation, the CDC(s) that generate(s) the most individual letters will receive special recognition at the NCCED Annual Conference in October.
In addition, your organization's name will be entered in a drawing of all NCCED members that have written ten or more letters to their legislators over the year. Prizes include $1000, $500, or $250!!!
This year, make it a priority to WRITE TEN!!
