RE: NCCED Insurance Program

September, 2002

Dear NCCED Member:

I am very pleased to announce the national launch of a new NCCED member benefit: the NCCED Insurance Program. The NCCED Insurance Program offers members a variety of business-related insurance products and services, with customized, cost-effective programs. NCCED has been able to secure agreements with leading insurance carriers and industry service providers to offer quality coverage to our members on a very advantageous basis.

The benefits to members are the following:

  • Potential savings on insurance costs. By leveraging the group purchasing power of our combined membership, NCCED has been able to negotiate with leading insurance carriers and vendors to offer coverage for a variety of programs at very competitive rates, which may enable you to achieve a substantial savings over what you currently pay.
  • Advantage of more flexible underwriting guidelines. We have also been able to obtain commitments from these carriers to provide relaxed underwriting guidelines for many voluntary products-including some which offer guaranteed acceptance for your employees-with little or no minimum participation requirements.
  • Additional "value-added services". The program offers additional services to participants such as employee benefit communications, employee recruiting and referral service.
  • No cost to you. There is no additional cost to your organization to participate in the insurance association- and there is no obligation of any kind to receive a customized quote. You'll be able to select from a full menu of group and voluntary coverages, and may choose any, or all (or none) of the programs in which you wish to participate, according to your particular business situation and requirements.

As the cost of insurance skyrockets for many community based organizations across the country, NCCED is working to keep our members informed, and provide them with programs and services that help them get the coverage they need at an advantageous rate.

To reap the benefits offered by the NCCED Insurance Program, we need you to follow a simple step-by-step process to complete a Proposal Request, which will result in the preparation of customized coverage proposals for your organization. Two forms are needed to enable this process: (1) the Worksite Employer Profile; and (2) the Employee Census Data Sheet. Completing and submitting these forms will provide the necessary information to begin the process to obtain quotes for those specific programs your organization wishes to consider.

PLEASE NOTE: All information and materials provided will be held in strict confidence. This information will be used solely to compare your existing coverage with currently available plans, and to obtain the most advantageous quote possible for your CDC.
